Phra Phutthasthaphon Mongkhon (Luang Pho To), Wat Thawararam (Vietnamese Temple) | Kanchanaburi
Wat Thawararam or Wat Yuan was built during the reign of King Nangklao, Rama III. It is the first Vietnamese temple in Kanchanaburi Province and is an ancient temple that is over a hundred years old.
The temple has a Vietnamese name of “Kan Tho Tue” which means “living permanently” in Thai. Therefore, it has the name of the temple, Wat Thawararam, which was given by King Chulalongkorn, Rama V.
Another beautiful architecture of the temple is the Chinese-style pagoda called Phra Tamnak Somdej Phra Yanasangwon, which is a replica of the Thian Thian Tower in China.

1. Wat Tham Phu WaWat Tham Phu Wa in Kanchanaburi is a cave with a large hall-like structure. In front of the cave is a large sandstone castle in an ancient Khmer-style architecture.
2. Wat Tham Khao Poon
This temple was the site of a large prisoner-of-war camp during World War II. Besides its beautiful cave, it's located on the banks of the Kwai River at a scenic bend, and is also a stop on the Death Railway.

5. Nine Armies War Historical Park
A historical site dedicated to the Nine Armies War.

6. Chong Kai Allied War Cemetery
Open daily for free admission. A cemetery for Allied prisoners of war who died during the construction of the Death Railway. Approximately 7 rai (about 2.8 acres) contains 1,750 graves of prisoners of war.
7. Ban Tha Po Archaeological Site
Ban Tha Po is a burial site and settlement of prehistoric (Bronze) humans dating back approximately 3,100 years.
8. Thai-Burma Railway Museum
Displays the story of the construction of the Thai-Burma Railway. (Entrance fee applies)

9. Good View Water Park
The water park offers many fun activities and rides. Admission fee is 100 THB. A cafe and resort are also available.

10. Wat Tham Mongkol Thong
Wat Tham Mongkol Thong in Kanchanaburi has approximately 100 steps leading up to the cave. The railings are adorned with golden and glass dragons. What makes this temple famous and known internationally is the floating nun. It's a must-see destination, and the temple is located along the way to... The "Giant Rain Tree" allows us to visit both places.
11. Historical Sites in Old Kanchanaburi City
This was once the location of a frontier town to block the Burmese army's advance through the Three Pagodas Pass from the Ayutthaya period to the early Rattanakosin period.

Maple Gardens is a plant nursery and, at the end of the year, hosts a famous longan buffet festival and flower garden. It attracts many tourists every year.
13. Don Rak Allied War Cemetery
A large cemetery covering 17 rai (approximately 2.7 acres), containing the graves of 6,982 prisoners of war who died during the construction of the Death Railway.

15. Two Kwai Walking Street
A relaxing walking street along the Kwai River, next to the Sky Walk. Enjoy shopping, food, clothing, etc. Open Saturdays 5:00 PM - 9:30 PM.
16. Wat Metta Dhamma Bodhiyan
A Mahayana Buddhist temple of Chinese sect. There is a large, 12-meter-tall wooden statue of the Thousand-Armed Bodhisattva Guanyin. The entire temple is built of wood.

18. Kanchanaburi City Gate
Built during the reign of King Rama III in 1831, when he moved it from the old Kanchanaburi city in Lat Ya Subdistrict to its current location.
19. Bridge over the River Kwai
The most important bridge on the Death Railway, built during World War II.
20. Kanchanaburi City Pillar Shrine
The Kanchanaburi City Pillar Shrine is a four-sided building with a Thai-style roof. Inside is the main city shrine.

21. Ban Kao National Museum
This is the site where archaeological evidence of prehistoric Stone Age humans was first discovered in Thailand.

22. Skywalk
A landmark for viewing the confluence of the two rivers, the Khwae Yai and Khwae Noi. Open daily 9:00-18:30.
23. Art Gallery and World War II Museum
A private museum located near the Bridge over the River Kwai. The exhibits inside offer diverse content.

24. Shinto Garden
A historical learning attraction in a lush Japanese-style garden, featuring a Japanese shrine and museum.

25. Axis War and Prisoner of War Museum
