Koh Libong is considered the largest island in Trang Province and is also a food source for dugongs, the country's largest source of seagrass. The island also boasts a diverse lifestyle and culture.
Koh Libong is known for its beautiful but unusual stone bridge, a natural creation that creates a gap beneath the surface, resembling a bridge made of stone. Koh Libong, a famous Trang tourist destination, is a beautiful island and a paradise in the middle of the ocean.
1. Dugong Viewing Spot and Natural Landscape
Dugong Observation Tower: Located at the end of the long wooden pier of Batu Putih village, this 4-story tower was built for tourists and staff to observe herds of dugongs that often come to feed on seagrass in this area (the best time to visit is during high tide on a clear day). It is also a very beautiful spot to watch the sunrise.
Batu Putih Hill: A ridge and viewpoint with a nature trail. If you walk to the top, you can clearly see the scenery of Koh Libong, the Andaman Sea, and the seagrass beds from a high vantage point.
2. Unique Natural Landmark
Stone Bridge: A natural sculpture formed by coastal rocks eroded by seawater and wind, creating an arched opening resembling a large stone bridge. It's a popular photo spot, and during March–April, the sunset light shines perfectly through the opening of the stone bridge.
Dragon's Back Beach (Blue Dragon): A stretch of sand and seashells that appears in the middle of the sea only at low tide. It appears as a long, winding sandbar resembling dragon scales connecting the islands. Most tourists like to stop and take photos while traveling by longtail boat to the island.
3. Relaxing Beaches and Sunset Viewpoints
Behind the Hill Beach (or the area in front of leading resorts such as Andalay Beach Resort): This beach has fine brown sand, stretches long, and is very quiet. It's perfect for swimming, walking around and observing hermit crabs, and is the best spot on the island to watch the sunset.
Tung Ya Kha Beach and Pan Yang Beach: These are relatively secluded and private beaches on the northwest side, ideal for those who rent a motorbike to explore the island and find quiet beaches away from the hustle and bustle.
4.Experience Local Community Life
Batu Putih Fishing Village: Learn about the lifestyle of the local sea people. The community here is mostly Thai Muslims who warmly welcome tourists. You will see houses built on stilts above the sea, abundant mangrove forests, and can sample fresh seafood from local fishermen at friendly prices.
