Camping at San Kamphaeng Hot Springs | Chiang Mai
Nestled amidst a lush, natural landscape of trees and verdant mountains, these hot springs are located approximately 36 kilometers from the city center.
Many people find soaking in warm water to be a relaxing and delightful experience; furthermore, bathing in warm mineral water offers additional health benefits. Thailand is home to numerous hot springs, some of which are open to visitors—such as the San Kamphaeng Hot Springs in Chiang Mai. The site features two hot springs that propel water about 20 meters into the air. The water’s initial temperature exceeds 100 degrees Celsius, though it cools down as the heat dissipates in the breeze. The San Kamphaeng Hot Springs derive their name from their original location within the San Kamphaeng District of Chiang Mai Province; however, following a change in administrative boundaries, the area now falls under the jurisdiction of Mae On District. The water from the hot spring is hot enough to boil eggs.
