Wat Aonoi, Mueang @PrachuapKhiriKhan | Prachuap Khiri Khan
Do Ao Noi or Wat Tham Phra Non was built as a temple in 1987 and received the royal charter of boundary markers in 2010. Although the temple was not built long ago, it is home to two large reclining Buddhas, aged 300-500 years. The first one is enshrined at the mouth of the cave, lying on its right side, 20 meters long. The other one is inside the cave, lying on its left side, 14 meters long. It is believed that in the past, Tham Phra Non was a place where sailors often took shelter from storms.
Wat Ao Noi, such as Tham Phra Non, cannot be left out. Because it is located inside a cave, we have to walk up the stairs to see it. There is a high angle view of the sea and a resting point for those who are not comfortable walking up the mountain.
Wat Tham Phra Non is located in the foothills of Ao Noi in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The beauty of Wat Ao Noi
The golden teak church is carved with exquisite Thai patterns throughout. It is of great value and is hard to find. Inside, there is a marble Buddha image and pictures of the life of the Lord Buddha in wooden frames, beautifully carved on the sides of the church walls. Surrounding the chapel are two golden nine-headed Naga. In front of the temple is Ao Noi Beach, which creates a beautiful atmosphere with a cool sea breeze. It is also shady from the mountain view. This temple also has a nature trail to the Reclining Buddha Cave on the mountain. Climb the stairs for 10-15 minutes and enjoy the sea view from a higher point to pay homage and ask for blessings from the beautiful Reclining Buddha (Reclining Buddha) in contemporary Uthong-Rattanakosin art.
