Wat Phra That Doi Phra Chan | Lampang
Located on the top of Doi Phra Chan, an abandoned temple that has been renovated to be one of the most beautiful and amazing places to visit in Lampang with its original Lanna style art. The white pagoda, over a hundred years old, stands out as a symbol of Lampang's attractions.
The former abbot of Wat Nakhot Luang renovated the pagoda and improved the place for the pagoda worship ceremony, which led to the tradition of climbing Doi Phra Chan to worship the pagoda once a year. After that, there was another major renovation of Wat Phra That Doi Phra Chan by Phra Phonchai Akkhawangso, the abbot of Wat Phra That Doi Phra Chan, in 2008 because the original building had been abandoned for many years until it became the beautiful temple it is today.
Since July 2024, Wat Phra That Doi Phra Chan has been open to tourists every day (except Wednesdays) from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
