Wat Buraphakukasing (Ku Ka Sing), Kaset Wisai District | Roi Et Province

Wat Burapha Ku Kasing is a large Khmer architectural site that remains remarkably well-preserved. It features exquisite carvings and is likely influenced by the Khmer art form known as Bapuan, dating from approximately 1560-1630 CE.
History and Architecture: Prasat Ku Kasing was built around the 16th-17th Buddhist centuries (1560-1630 CE) in the Bapuan Khmer style as a temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. The temple consists of three prangs situated on a single laterite base, with the central prang being the largest. Two more libraries are located in front, all surrounded by a laterite wall and a U-shaped moat.
Artifact Discoveries: Archaeological excavations have uncovered important artifacts, including a gold ornament depicting a five-headed naga and a gold plate used for laying the foundation stone. It is currently preserved at the Roi Et National Museum.
Connection to the Temple: Wat Burapha Ku Kasing was built later, around 1929, and is located within the same area as the ancient castle. This is why most people collectively refer to the site as "Wat Burapha Ku Kasing."
Currently, there is no admission fee for Prasat Ku Kasing and Wat Burapha Ku Kasing. Admission is free.
