Phu Pha Toep National Park (Mukdahan National Park) is one of the smallest national parks in Thailand. It is home to bizarrely shaped rock formations and caves adorned with paintings.
Phu Pha Toep National Park is home to unusually shaped rock formations, some resembling mushrooms, pavilions, or swans. The viewpoint offers views of Mukdahan city, the Mekong River, and Laos. One of the highlights of Phu Pha Toep National Park is the hand-painted cave known as "Red Palm Cave."
The interior of Red Palm Cave is adorned with ancient red paintings estimated to be between 3,000 and 5,000 years old. These paintings contain fascinating meanings and stories, such as depictions of animals that reflect the lifestyles of people at that time. Archaeologists believe these paintings are related to religious rituals or past community beliefs.
