Pha Taem Sao Chaliang Terrace: Natural stone pillars at | Ubon Ratchathani

Sao Chaliang in Pha Taem National Park, Ubon Ratchathani Province, is a natural rock pillar formed by water and wind erosion over millions of years. It resembles a giant mushroom-shaped rock pillar, composed of sandstone from the Cretaceous and Dinosaur Periods, estimated to be 130-180 million years old.
Formation: This rock pillar was formed by a natural process in which sandstone from two eras (the Upper Cretaceous and the Lower Dinosaur Period) was continuously eroded by water and wind. Photographing and admiring the magnificent giant mushroom-shaped rock pillars, over a million years old, is a natural creation. Each pillar stands approximately 20 meters tall, reminiscent of the Jurassic period.
Shape: The stronger part resists erosion, leaving the mushroom-shaped rock pillars.
Distinctive Features: In addition to the beauty of the rock pillars, the nearby area also offers other natural attractions, such as the Broken Stone Field and prehistoric rock paintings. Getting there: Located in Huai Phai Subdistrict, Khong Chiam District Approximately 1.5 kilometers from Pha Taem National Park.
