Wat Tha Thanon, also known as Wat Luang Pho Phet by locals, is located opposite Uttaradit Railway Station. It houses the magnificent Luang Pho Phet, a Chiang Saen Singh 1 Buddha image cast entirely in bronze. The temple's Western-style buildings, built in 1931, served as a Buddhist and Pali language school for local monks and novices. Its architectural beauty is stunning.

Wat Tha Thanon is the site of the enshrined Buddha image. "Luang Pho Phet," a sacred Buddha image revered by the people of Uttaradit.
This Buddha image features beautiful characteristics in the style of Chiang Saen Singh One.
In the past, Luang Pho Phet was enshrined at Wat Benchamabophit Dusitwanaram in Bangkok, according to the royal wish of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V). However, he later ordered it to be re-enshrined at Wat Tha Thanon, at the request of the people of Uttaradit.
History of the temple: This temple was built around 1759.
The temple's original name was "Wat Wang Tao Mo," later changed to "Wat Tha Thanon."
Architecture and Painting: Inside the ubosot (ordination hall), Luang Pho Phet is enshrined, and there are also murals on display.
Location: Wat Tha Thanon is located on the Nan River, opposite the Uttaradit Railway Station. Making travel convenient.
