Thai Elephant Conservation Center
Thai Elephant Conservation Center is located at Ban Thung Kwian, Wiang Tan Sub-district, under the supervision of the Northern Region Forest Industry Department.
The Forest Industry Organization was originally an elephant training center, which is the first and only one in the world and it has been operating since 1969.
It is a place to raise and train young elephants for obedience and expertise in logging while the mother elephant goes to work in the forest. And, because there is a policy to close the forest which made the elephant unemployed; thus the training center for young elephants has been adapted to be the sanctuary for old and sick elephants. It is also Elephant Hospital. Therefore, Forest Industry Organization established the Thai Elephant Conservation Center in January 1992, and organized activities for tourism.

Monday - Friday, there are 2 performances at 10.00 and 11.00 hrs.
For Saturday - Sunday and holidays: The extra show will be added at 1:30 p.m.
