Phanom Rung Castle is located in Tambon Tapek, Amphoe Chaloem Phra Kiat, Buriram Province. It is one of the most beautiful ancient sites. It is located on the top of an extinct volcano, approximately 900,000 years ago.

The location of Phanom Rung Castle may have been the site of a local religious site before the castle was built.
It was built to honor Shiva, the supreme god of Hinduism. It is believed that it was built in many eras from the 15th to the 18th Buddhist centuries.
This makes it beautiful in terms of ancient Khmer architecture. I must say that if you walk around and listen to the stories of the place, you really can't see it all in one day.
