Recommended to visit Ancient Monument No. 22 or Sri Mahosot Ancient Monument to see the large ancient city of the Dvaravati period, covering an area of ​​approximately 742 rai, with more than 100 mounds, ponds, and wells scattered around. It is assumed that it was built in the Dvaravati period. Inside, important ancient objects of Sri Mahosot are displayed, such as the Ganesha statue, Dvaravati art, early 12th Buddhist century, the Buddha statue in meditation pose, Dvaravati art, 13th-14th Buddhist century, the Buddha statue in enlightenment pose, Dvaravati art, 14th-15th Buddhist century, the inscription of the mirror frame and candlestick inscription, Khmer art in Thailand, 18th Buddhist century, assumed to have been built in the Dvaravati period. Most of the evidence found is related to Brahmanism or Hinduism, such as temples and Shiva lingam statues. Important ancient monuments in Sri Mahosot include: - The group of ancient monuments in the city center, around the 18th Buddhist century, is a group of temples with a laterite base and brick top. At the back, there is a
laterite well. Around the 11th-12th Buddhist century, excavated antiques include various idols and pottery shards from the Lopburi, Sukhothai, Ayutthaya, and Rattanakosin periods. - Phu Khao Thong is a round chedi shaped like an inverted bowl from the Dvaravati period. - Ancient site number 25 is a temple with a rectangular foundation made of laterite, around the 11th-12th Buddhist century. - Sa Kaeo ancient site is located outside Si Mahosot to the southwest. It is an 18-meter wide ancient pond dug into a layer of natural laterite. The pond is square in shape. On the west side, there is a 4-meter wide and 13.60-meter long staircase. All sides of the pond are carved with bas-reliefs of various animals, such as elephants, makara (makon, makora or makara means dragon), lions, pigs, kinnari, and snakes coiling around the pillar. These animals are of high status.
