Wat Khao Hor | Phatthalung
Wat Khao Hor is a private temple belonging to the Mahayana Buddhist sect, located in Makok Nuea Subdistrict, Khuan Khanun District, Phatthalung Province. The temple was built in 1651 BE (Buddhist Era) and received its royal charter in 1661 BE.
Important Rituals and Sacred Caves
Within the temple grounds are caves on a limestone mountain, such as Tham Phra (Buddha Cave) and Tham Chat Banphot (Chat Banphot Cave). A peaceful place used for rituals and meditation.
Ancient Rituals
This is the only temple that still preserves important ceremonies such as the 108-herb soaking ritual (for invincibility) and the black sticky rice eating ritual.
