Abhaibhubejhr Thai Herbal Medicine Museum or Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Building | Prachinburi
Chaophraya Abhaibhubejhr Building was established in 1909 by Chaophraya Abhaibhubejhr (Chum Abhaiwong), built with the European Baroque architecture to be the reception palace for King Rama V, for his majesty should visit Prachinburi area; however, the king had passed away before. Subsequently, the building was used as the Royal Reception Hall for King Rama VI, along with other royal family. Nevertheless, the owner of this building had never used this building personally for all of his entire life.
After Chaophraya Abhaibhubejhr had passed away, the building ownership was returned to Abhaiwong family, the ownership of building and surrounding lands were then inherited to Princess Suwandhana. While she went staying with her daughter in England, she bestowed all the property to The 2nd Army area, Prachinburi province to be a military hospital and for general public used. Consequently, the ownership was transferred to Ministry of Public Health, and was founded to be Prachinburi hospital, later its name was changed to Abhaibhubejhr hospital.
