Wat Pa Lelai Worawihan was built during the time when Suphan Buri was prosperous. The Northern Chronicles stated that King Katae had the Mon Noi renovate Wat Pa Lelai after 1724 B.E. People came to pay homage to “Luang Pho To” which was enshrined in a tall chapel that could be seen from afar. It is a Buddha statue in the Pa Lelai posture, in the art of the U Thong Suphan Buri period. The Buddha statue is 23.46 meters high and 11.20 meters in circumference. Inside this Buddha statue are 36 relics of the Lord Buddha that were taken from Phra Maha Thera Lai Lai. The Luang Pho To worship festival at Wat Pa Lelai is held twice a year, on the 5th-9th waxing moon day of the 5th and 12th lunar months.
